Dear Friends,
Welcome back to a new semester! I am looking forward to hearing about all of the new courses and working with colleagues in the Faculties, Student Associations and the CC Student Consultants on ways of making the experience even livelier for everyone. We are getting very good feedback from our External Advisors at Columbia, UCLA, Western Sydney, and Harvard, which we’re always happy to share with you.
We’ll be hosting the usual 𝑺𝒕𝒖𝒅𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝑳𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒏𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑭𝒆𝒔𝒕𝒊𝒗𝒂𝒍 (and hope to add a small student conference to that); a student is now designing the first 𝑪𝑪 𝑪𝒂𝒔𝒆 𝑪𝒐𝒎𝒑𝒆𝒕𝒊𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 around the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs); we will be recruiting students to participate in 𝑪𝒓𝒊𝒕𝒊𝒄𝒂𝒍 𝒁𝒐𝒏𝒆𝒔: 𝑮𝒆𝒏𝒅𝒆𝒓, 𝑪𝒊𝒕𝒊𝒆𝒔, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑾𝒆𝒍𝒍-𝑩𝒆𝒊𝒏𝒈 (an undergraduate research project based in the Common Core, but including students from across town and around the world, a draft of which is attached here: https://qrgo.page.link/wBvYD); and participating in both 𝑾𝒐𝒓𝒍𝒅 𝑪𝒍𝒂𝒔𝒔 𝑫𝒂𝒚 (https://artsandscience.usask.ca/event/2020/world-class-day/) and 𝐔𝟐𝟏’𝐬 𝐑𝐈𝐒𝐄 student projects (https://universitas21.com/get-inv…/student-competitions/rise).
If you’d like to get to know other curious students hither and yon or want to more publicly highlight your work, just let me know!
Here’s to a great semester--
All best,
Gray
